Welcome!

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Yeungnam University.

I am a developmental psychologist who uses contextual and multi-method approaches to understand adolescents' and young adults' positive psychosocial development centering their identity and sense of purpose. I particularly illuminate how macro-systems of culture and structure shape young people's developing sense of self, and identify opportunities for resilience and thriving. I apply this interest to diverse settings involving collectivistic vs individualistic cultures, structured vs unstructured education systems, and various forms of minoritization.

I earned my M.A. and Ph.D. in Child Study and Human Development from Tufts University, where I worked in the Institute for Applied Research in Youth Development (PI Dr. Richard Lerner) and the Development of Identity and Community Engagement Lab (PI Dr. Sara Johnson). I was then the inaugural Canady Diversity Science Postdoctoral Fellow in the Development of Identity in Cultural Environments Lab (PI Dr. Onnie Rogers) at the Department of Psychology at Northwestern University  and at the Department of Comparative Human Development at the University of Chicago. Most recently, I was the California Prospective Gender Equity Initiative Postdoctoral Researcher at UC Berkeley's Math and Physical Sciences Division Dean's Office. I earned my B.A. in Psychology and Business Administration from Korea University.
